alternator problems

the alt won't spin by hand. but like jeeper just told me 1600rms to a 100amp alt won't be good at all im gonna have to sell my system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Cause i don't have the cash to upgrade anything and still layed off some of the sadest new's i ever had to give:(
I ran 1500 off a 100A fine...with only an upgraded battery ground. Never had a problem...

And both were class a/b amps...much less efficient than class D amps...

hmm...well my car is an 89 J3 and has over 144 thousand miles on it.
Mine was a 94 with 210k miles...still powered both fine when I dropped a cylinder...

Car's friggin bulletproof...except for the bullethole //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

oh **** well what could i do then? but this mechanic told me since i have my system and my fog light's is what drains my alternator slowly which i still find that hard to believe though.

Alright guy's im going to have to go with a bigger alternator but would a 150 amp do it? i got 800 running to each sub would 150 amp instead of 100 amp alternator help???

just called a place now near me they can build me a 165 amp alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif will that help ?

bro if your alternator is locked up and won't spin at all

then you killed the bearings in it.

the cause of this is that you had the belt way too tight.

and another cause is the alternator was working very hard and built up alot of heat and killed the bearings.

oh alright thx Jaco , i'll remember that incase if it ever happens again which hopefully it doesn't //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. thanks for the information though man.
