alternator help

ok so I'm trying to run my visonik 4000D and I think i'm going to need a new alternator. but i don't know what number of amps i need or what to look for can someone please help me out. I have a 2006 mustang

Just get 2 big batteries for the trunk and you'll be fine.Couple of d3400's or kinetik's maybe a yellow top they will cost about the same as an alt maybe a little less.And its a lot less hassle

You're not guaranteed more batteries will suffice, but they will help. It also depends on what you plan on running on the amp and at what ohm. If You ran the amp at its full potential, that's about 330 amperes @ 14 volts. If you listen to long bass notes at loud volumes, no number of batteries will work for you because your stock alt wouldn't be able to keep them charged.

If you say soLets see removing a greasy old alt that may be in some crazy precurious location that requires a third arm.Then re-installing the new alt.Then hope you have good voltage at idle.Or buy 2 batteries,install/place them in a nice clean trunk,parrell the batteries and your done.

well does anybody know where I'd find an HO alt for a 2006 mustang V6 I've looked on google and can't find one. Do you know how i'd go about getting one?

most HO alt companies don't stock alts or have a shopping list. You have to contact them for a quote.

Yes they do have a list.These are the alts they make.It doesn't mean they have them,duh.

call matt at mechman 1888 632-4626 they might have an alt for u. however your car is pretty new, just like mine......... matt still hooked me up ; ) just had to do a little extra work on my part.(first 06 civic alt he made) almost done though lol. they usually have a drop in version for almost any car, mine was sort of the prototype for the new gen civics....
