Ok I am gonna run a Sundown 3000d at .5 off 4 deka batteries. I am going with Mechman Alternator. I can either get a 250 amp one for 350 shipped. Although he has a 200 amp one clearanced price for 209 shipped. So would the 50 extra amps be worth the extra 140 dollars?!?!

Are you having any problems running 2 1500d's off your factory alt? That cant be much more then 120-140
I say 200
I am not sure what my factory alt is its either 105 or 130 amps lowest voltage ive seen is like 12.1

The batteries are more important. The max draw of the amp isn't going to matter ot the alt because it will never see that draw. The battery will soak up the transients and the alt will only need to recharge them...that is unless you ride around playing test tones at full volume all the time.

More amperage is never bad and it can increase the life of the alternator, since it isn't working as hard. If you can afford the 250a I'd go with it.

Thats a pretty big price jump, I would go with the 200amp and spend the other ~$150 towards a 4th deka.
