hey guys need recommendations ..... i have a sundown saz 1500d with 2 - 12" FIQ, i did the big 3 ... im still running the stock battery ,which im upgrading to a orbitial extrreme and have my stock 105 amp alt ....and when the bass hits my voltage goes real low and the whole light dimming thing going on ..... what amp alt should i get ? i was thinking of getting mine rebuilt to a 160 amp would that be good enough ??? thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so the stock battery would be giving me this much trouble ...it charges fine without the amp running ,but with the amp and volume up man it drains the battery...planning to buy a battery this weekend .....also if i keep the stock alt will i kill it ? for some reason im thinking 105 amp alt may be to small, but just not sure you guys would know better than i would lol

I am not familiar with that sundown amp but you should not have a problem. If the voltage is only dipping during a bass hit then even a large cap will help. If the voltage is low the whole time your stereo is on, then you need to upgrade the alternator.

no.....OP upgrade your front batt, and throw one in the back and you should be fine.

A large cap will help him as he is low on space. He said that in one of the posts. A 40 farad cap like the new hcap-40 from tsunami will take up very little space and will help. A second battery is better but it will take up more space.

thanks guys for your replies:D would a yellow top or orbital extreme plus a 140 or 160 alt would that take care of it... or do you think just replace the battery and keep the stock alt....the other poster asked when does my voltage drop ...when the radio is on at low volume its fine, just when the volume is up and the bass hits is when i having problems

Up the front batt to whatever you can fit up thereMaybe throw a kinetik 600 or 800 in the back (they're pretty small)
I agree with him. Only go with a 40 farad cap if you have no room at all for a separate battery on the back. It sounds like another battery will cure your problem. The 40 farad cap can be mounted on a sub box. the kinetic can't so it will take up more room but it will certainly work better than the cap.

was just checking out that batcap 400 ...maybe the yellow top and the batcap 400 ...do you guys think thaT will do the trick ? also will that hurt the alt at all ?

honestly if your tight on space why not spend a few more dollars and get a high output alternator. will save you more space then a back battery. and plus even if you add a back battery im sure in the future you would be looking to upgrade to a larger amp, so i say just uy a highoutput alty now.
