I have a 99 ford taurus (wifes car) I had installed a remote start system about 5 years ago. I'm upgrading the system but the old system used the voltage sense the new system requires a tach sense or positive voltage when running. I connected to the yellow/white stripe wire at the coil but the engine does not like it it will run rough. I can access the camshaft magnetic pickup wires but I do not know if that would work. Has anyone had any similar experience or know of an alternative tach sense connection? I'm sure any positive voltage when running will work.

*update* I was poking around the coils & found another true tach output at the 4 wire plug going into the coils use the heavier White/ grey stripe wire. You can get a tach output without interfering with the ignition system.

Have you browsed the Audio Control DSPs, like the DM608?
