Alt whine (I did search)

ok, so explain it exactly...b/c i am setting out tomorrow to fix my problem hopefully for good. did u take a separate wire...and splice into the yellow constant power on HU and run it all the way back to the amp power (red?) AND take a sep. wire and connect with HU ground and run it all the way back to the amp ground (where at? the metal or screw in connection to amp?) also, i take it u did this with ur speaker amp only? not the sub amp(s)...peace. thanx for any help man.

I took my yellow wire from the deck and ran it straight into a new 18 gauge wire which runs to the power of the amp (screw in). Then I ran another new 18 ga wire from the ground on the deck to the ground on the amp (screw). The yellow and ground wire from the deck are disconnected from the wire harness and are only connected to the new wires.

A couple things I just discovered today:

-My screws were touching metal on the car chasis and then touching the metal head unit holder thing causing some interference. Easily fixed by placing a plastic washer or even some tape between the screw and the HU holder.

-My sub had some weird noises that went away when I ran another wire from deck ground to amp ground (screw).

All said and done I have 3 18 ga wires running from my deck to my amps but everything is fixed so I'm not horribly concerned about it =P

I hope this helps, if you have any other questions let me know.

Mike
