I have an 1100 watt directed amp d5 5-channel, two 15in' kicker comp vr with the box.

i heard a 2 channel amp will give me a better thump with my subs, i could buy another amp, JBL 2 channel amp, for $140 new....

What i'm asking is, is it worth the trouble to get a new amp, or should i just keep the one i have?

Why didn't you just listen to us from the beginning? I told you to throw that Directe dout the window and find a better deal. JBL makes good amps...but fromt he picture from earlier your subs looked FUBARED. Same witht he box...which is pretty much 50% of the equation to a good sounding system.

Alright man, could you answer the question now? please..

Ok Ok Ok....are your subs DVC at 4 ohms or SVC at 4 ohms? If they are DVC at 4 ohms then I would go with the JBL but if the subs are messed up then nothing will help.

And I am serious about the box....if its messed up then that could be your problem too.

Honestly bro, i'm not sure.. about the subs, i plugged them into my home stereo and they satisfy me, i'm 17 years old and work at burger king, give me a break lol :p

And the box isn't that bad either

where in ohio are you and what was the reasoning that someone told you that a 2 channel would give you more "thump" sounds like a retard to me.

you generally want a mono for the subs but the 2 channel would be better than your 5 channel i bet

Oh, I thought you had hooked them up already....I would get it all hooked up in your car and see how you feel. If the picture of the amp you gave us is the one you got then you should be fine. I think that one is made by HI Fonics (Even thought it says directed)

Let us know when its all done.

is a 5 channel okay for those subs?

Oh crap...I didn't know it was five channel. No you do not want to run a five channel for those subs. You will either have to bridge the fronts to one sub and bridge the rears to the othe ror run them in parallel to the fifth channel.

Ultimately a good 2 channel or mono will work better.
