alpine type x's and r's

i see tons of threads on alpines type r's even a sticky with over 2000 replies..but what about the type x's? i know they take more power..anyone have experience with these?

i remember reading on here when someone posted they bought some type r's another guy replied saying congradts you got the loudest speakers..lol..

yeah the first gen type R's....they may handle more power than the R but that doesnt make it better

The type R is cheaper and does very good. I like mine sealed but most will say port it. Is up to you. The R is more spl compared to the X. That is more geared for the sq side. Good luck!

i got a type X..it broke...got a type R..it didnt break, same amp, box, everything. And teh type r sounded better. I think my X may have been broken when i got it, but stilll... not impressed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the 04 model doesnt compare to the 05. the type X doesnt compare to the R as far as output. the typeX is a awesome SQ sub and would prob be 1 of my 1st choice, if i was doin a sq install. for spl, dont consider a type X.
