Alpine Type X vs. ID CXS vs. others

hey george, NO SHOP around you will have them. i heard them in a friend's scion xB, believe me they are SICK. I woulda really gotten them if i wanted to dish out an extra hundred dollars. personally i'm still happy with my EF's though I haven't heard RE's, what i gathered before I made my purchase several months ago was that the EF combo with teh tw-25s would be better so that's what i got. He is running more power to his id's than i am to my cdt's so my judgment isn't the most impartial. i assure you won't be disappointed. i've never heard type x's...they're morels right?

after doing even more research some people say that the ID mid isnt all that great and the vifa mid beats them in output. and the werid thing about that is that the alpine type x's are all vifa componants...

o btw i truly think rap can have sq...how can it not. try turning off your subs or at least turning them down and just blast anything, hip hop or r&b. as long as it isn't underground sh!t or bad recordings, the music benefits GREATLY from good sq speakers. no sq in rap...blasphemy! may not be quality musically but in terms of simple sound reproduction...just as much sq as any genre of music (just boomy *** bass)

Depends on which side of the continent you are one. If you are east of the Mississippi River, you probably won't have much midbass output. If you are west of the Miss, you should have great midbass output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry.....that's a running joke on another forum. On that forum, everybody on the east coast can't seem to get midbass out of them, but everybody on the west coast says they have too much midbass output (or atleast that midbass output isn't a problem for them). The Vifa PL's are good output drivers.....though the ID mid will be better 2000hz and up.

also like to add that generally speaking you can get most speakers to do what you want tonally (outside of tweeters and there its directional.) its all install and phase jumping lol

so as far as being louder and gettin good midbass i should go with the id comps? really all i want is a speaker that can keep up with my 2 15's while stayin clear and having good midbass. what you think squeak, type x or chameleons?

Right now I am leaning towards the ID mainly because of the 2 ohm thing. Also, they are on sale right now at SoundDomain 15% off AND FREE shipping, so they are ~$305 shipped, w/ warranty. Even the EBAY prices dont beat that once you factor in shipping.

Yea, I think I am going to call SD tommorrow to see how long the deal is going on for. The CXS62 are on factory backorder right now so I want to see when they are back in stock as well.
