alpine type x subs in a ported box

Ok I have 2 alpine type x subs they are sealed right now. But I need something louder, and I don't have money for a new setup. there getting the 1000 watts rms they need on each sub. Has anyone gone ported how did they sound?

i would say port them they will be more efficient and if u build a good box they will sound good

you couldn't go deaf off that with a dd box.

i personally haven't but i know its been talked about before. they like similiar box's to type R's. so i'd do 2 cubes net per sub tuned to maybe 32.

ok got the book out it calls for .8 to 1.5 cubes for ported The design I did is 1.2 cubes at 33hz

I would do about 2.5 cubes tuned to 30hz for those subs (combined so 1.25 each). They should have pretty nice output and get pretty low.
