Going back to the shop over and over sounds like its costing someone time and headache //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifBut see the thing has nothing to do with money here, he already has purchased the sub and im sure the shop has been replacing it for free. And the type X isnt all that badly priced
They sound like morons. But then again, they just got you to buy an even more expensive sub in order to cover up their incompetence.Ok so just got back from the shop and they are ordering me a W7... They threw another type X in my car for the weekend so we will see how long that lasts.. LOL...
That is a good question. By the description, when the sub blows, it starts making a buzzing noise. This would indicate a mechanical failure, not a thermal one. Possibly over extending the suspension. Im not familiar enough with the type x design to know if its suspension limited or motor limited. But it sounds like the shop doesn't have the brains to properly diagnose their mistake anyway, so I dont think it really matters at this point.how big is your box, bruh?
They are doing all of this for free... Im not paying for anything... That's not the issue here... The box is .8 cub feet which is within Alpine specs... The shop seems to think they got a defective batch because they haven't had this problem before... In case everyone is wondering where I got it doneSo pretty much you just gave the shop a bunch of money.
Good for you
This.well you tore the surround where it connects to the cone from the pic anyway. That's definelty a mechanical failure which You do a have a single sealed ten in a pretty big vehicle. You may just need more bass to keep up with your musical tastes. However, the shop should have been smart enough to turn your gains down so that even if you were attempting to turn it up "too loud" you still wouldnt' be able to damage the sub.
