Alpine Type S... ok for the money ?

I can get 4 12" alpine Type S subs in a box for $200(used). Seems like a pretty good deal to me , but im back and fourth in between the 4 S's or i can get 2 brand new 12" Type R's for $240 then still have to build or buy a prefab. Not looking for competition loud just for DD. What would you do?

Type-S's are mighty fine for the money. They won't beat down the block like Type-R's will, but 4 of em for that price isn't bad at all.

try the 4 Type-S for the money and if you dont like it go with the Type Rs.....All about the build tho....

I personally think the 2 Type Rs will get the loudest

IMO, The 2 r's...loudest, less space( If going ported) and look better. If sealed then the type s's are fine..twice the cone area helps em out a lott

Saying "daily" use doesn't really mean anything...

Personally, for $200 and "daily" use I'd go with something else...
