Alpine Type R's

I'm looking to purchase two Alpine 10" SWR-1022D's, use a Alpine CDE-9881 head unit. When it comes to amplifiers and wires I have no clue what to buy, so my questions are:

- Which amplifier will be a good mate to the subs without breaking the bank?

- Which guage wires would I need?

- Should I incorporate capacitators? If so, which ones?

Thanks very much everybody.

Well, previously I had 2 12" JL Audio subs (came with the car) in a sealed box with an audiobahn amp and 2 capacitators and it sounds VERY VERY CLEAN. Loud but clean. So for the box I wasn't sure, I will probably have somebody build it to specs but it will most likely be sealed, unless I should go with a ported box for the Type R's.

I would send each one around 400-700 watts rms, clean power of course with conservative gains

you have 2 dual 2 subs so you will have to find something that puts out the needed power at 2 ohms

I might go with ported, but isn't ported very "loose". It's like a flood of bass? I'm leaning more towards SQ then waking my neighborhood up (although I wouldn't mind having both :p). Will these two type r's be louder than my old 12W6's? A lot louder? And also, do you advise I get a capacitator?

Alright... so Two Type R 12"s, with a Kicker 1500.1watt amp? Are there any other alternatives? Just looking for something a little beat cheaper (pricewise) for the amp. Also, for the amp, if it is 1500watts max power for each sub, wouldn't I want an amp that can handle 3000watts? Sorry if I'm a noob

Is this any good?

(2) Kicker DS12L5

with a ported box and amp.

Is that better than R's? Will the ported box make it more for SPL or will it have good SQ? Let me know, thanks!

pay no attention to max power. rms is where it's at. you need 1000 watts rms or more, preferably more.
