Alpine Type R vs. Memphis Power Reference

Hey guys, I need some advice. I plan on getting either a single 10" or 12" sub and I will be giving it 270w rms, which sub & size will give me the best response with the power I have available and why? If neither of those two subs would, what sub would you recommend?

12" memphis PR will rock with that power. I ran about that much to each of 2 Prs and it was loud as hell for the power. run it on a 2 cuft box after displacement tuned to 38hz and your golded. typer doesnt get loud that low. you need about 800watts to see anything worth wild out of a type R.

Thanks for the input so far. I think I'm gonna go with the Memphis Power Reference, but now the question is 10" or 12'? Also should I go sealed or ported? I mainly listen to rock & classic rock if that gives you any help. I found a nice ported box I like but the price is rather high, http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3640. Does anyone know where I can get a ported tube like that for a better price by chance?
