Alpine Type R subwoofer cone cracked

I have a little crack on the plastic cone. It plays the same as it did without crack so do i have to fix it somehow or can i let it be. I dont listen to music very loud if it makes any difference.

I have used Goop with good success which was recommended to me by JL Audio.

Yes, you should fix it so it doesn't spread and air leaks are bad.

did you also have type r, because the cone is made of strange plastic material and im not sure how well the goop will hold.

Yeah that's not really that bad for now. Is the crack all the way through the cone the whole way? I would use the goop they are talking about before it gets worse.

Try the Goop, if that doesn't suffice for awhile then its time to get a new sub. Just try it.

Is it a scratch or a crack that is through the cone in any way? I just cant tell with the pic.

My little brother had type rs and didn’t have his small 2nd battery properly secured and it broke loose and slammed into the cone and really f’d it up so my dad used jb weld plastic weld on it and held up very well just looked haggard

it is a crack if i press on it then it sinks in, and should i smear goop all over the crack or just put it on the crack and not smear it and leave it spatial.

I would put some kind of tape or something over the crack and then goop over that.

2 part epoxy, paint it on with a small brush. Scuff sand before applying to promote adhesion. If it doesn't look good, lightly sand the entire cone and spray it with some Testors or Rustoleum.
