alpine type-r or Kicker CompVR, which is the best buy?

I am having a bit of a dilemma in choosing. I need 2 12" subwoofers around this price range. The CVR is considerably cheaper with a warranty but i am wondering if it is worth saving the money and not upgrading to type-r. Right now i have a RF Power 501Bd amp that is underrated and probably hits around 600+ RMS @ 2 ohm. I might upgrade the amp, but the amp will be upgraded AFTER i get some new subs. Im going to get Dual 2 ohm.

2 Kicker CompVR are 150$ Shipped with 1 year warranty from sonicelectronix/crutchfield. 400 RMS Each

2 Alpine Type-R are about 240$ shipped on ebay with no warranty. 500 RMS Each

Which do you think is the best for me? If i get the Kicker CVR ill probably get a kicker kx600.1 (usually around 750 ish RMS) or something 700-800 RMS. I have a sealed enclosure right now 2.5 cubic feet for both 12 with not much trunk space to use.

i'd go with the kickers. while the r's will sound better, thier sq isn't so good as to spend an extra $100 on. plus a warranty with the cvr's make it worth it and the r's will require you to spend more on an amp. so i say cvr's.

The better buy is obviously the CompVR's. Its a buy one get one free deal IIRC and you get the 1 year warranty. The alpines would also need much more than just 750 for both.

if anyone thinks type-r are better then tell me! but im really leaning towards the cvrs to save some cash. if u think cvrs, tell me why //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The R's would rape with three times the power.

what, type r's **** i heard one 12 ported with a kx600.1 amp and it was not impressive, sq was decent a little better than a cvr but spl ****** majorly, my brothers 2 10inch cvr's with a pos kenwood amp blew this 12 away in spl, imo all alpine subs are not worth buying.

cvrs r way better my friend has 6 and one 12 blows the hell out of my alpines and my alpines r tearing apart
old thread here buddy. and off the same power i had better results with my TYPE Rs then my CVRs and then i doubled the power and the cvrs could not handle it while the type Rs are taking it like a champ.

i have 1 12" type r 4 ohm running on 1100 watts rms.... off a 1600 watt hifonics brutus amp....

check my SIG

i push mid 130s with 1 12" type r sealed in 1.25 cubes!!!!!

last time i metered my bass on my HU was at -4 and i got 133.7 avg peaked at 133.9!!!!

TYPE R 4 all the way BABY!!!!!!

I would just go with a ported box tuned from 32 hz. - 35 hz.
