ok i am wondering, i am not the brightest crayola in the box with ohms and everything ... but i was jus wondering what is the difference ... i mean i go to look at amps and it shows taht at 2 ohms they can run at higher watts .. so whats that mean ... i am just unsure which to go with ... I mean if i go with a 4 ohm other than a 2 ohm what difference does it make? thanks a lot

same speaker with different impedances so you can wire for the most power of your amp or to get to a certain impedance.

I have a Hifonics TX1505D

it is rated at

500 watts x 1 chan @ 4 ohms

1000 watts x 1 chan @ 2 ohms

1500 watts x 1 chan @ 1 ohms

if youre gonna use two, get the dual 4 ohm versions. if your gonna get 1 use the dual 2

well i only have one ... would it be better if i got the 2 ohm or 4 ohm which one would sound better?

wait so it says 4 ohms ... runs at 500 watts x 1 chan ... doenst that mean that it would only give each sub 250 watts ... but if i only have one and run it on the 2 ohm wouldnt it push 1000 watts rms to one sub ... man this is kinda confusing

that may help ya. you want to match the subs impedance"ohms" to get the desired output out of your amp. If ya are running one sub... get a dual 2 because it can be hooked up at one ohm. If you are running two then get a dual 4 because they can be wired together to create a one ohm load.

get the dual 2 version.

this way you can run it as 1 ohm or 4 ohms. i say run it at 1 ohm and watch the gains.

IMO in single dual 4's you have lack of flexibility.

for number 1, just watch your gains. set it using the tutorial stickied on this forum. its okay to have a 5kw amp running a 1kw sub, just be extremely careful how you set your gains.

erm for number 2, hifonics really isnt notorius for putting out its rated power, so yu will be underpowering that sub at 4 ohms

are u plannin 2 add another sub in the future, if so get the dual 4 if not and u gonna keep the 1 sub setup for awhile, get the dual 2
