Alpine Type-R daily rms

Hey guys I have a 12" Alpine Type-R rated @ 500w rms 1500w max.

I have a Cadence TXA-6004 amp bridged at 600x2 (channels 1,2 powering components @ about 200 watts total)

I was wondering if my gains at full would be pushing 600 watts like suggested., (the amp is 600x2 RMS, by the way) and if this would be ok to do.

I was thinking about going to an audio shop and having them set my gains with an o-scope but the closest most "reliable" audio shop around here wants 60$/hr with a 1 hour minimum.

go buy a cheap dmm and calculate the amps's vac output....do it yourself and you will know it is correct

About 700-750rms is all a R 12 will take daily for music.

If you're planning on just doing a Bassrace run or burping it, I know they can do a solid 2,000rms for 30 seconds, and some more for a burp.

What it can take depends on the enclosure, but that should be a good guideline.

A buddy of mine got 2 Type Rs and we tested them in a couple different boxes and alot of different amounts of power. Id say about 600-650rms is good for a solid daily setup that wont blow any subs.

We tried about 1,900rms per sub and even though it was loud, we just kept frying subs, even when we werent pushing them that hard. Just flat out wayyyyyyy too much power.

750w is a pretty fair estimate for a long and continuous amount of time. As you increase the power, that amount of time will decrease. If you have good judgement with a volume knob (knowing when to turn it down) then you can run a lot of power to them daily.

Ok so.

gains @ full = causes clipping, regardless weather its to the amp, speakers, sub, or h/u, clipping is clipping and its bad, correct?

Im basically looking for a better way to make the Type-R louder because Im not allowed to turn up the volume on my H/U past 24 because the alpine h/u causes clipping (from what I've heard)

MOAR POWER!?

clipping = bad

Yes, I understood you. I need more power, but the reason for my facial expression is more power comes with more money, im lacking both. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

To be honest I think its fine the way it is it gets plenty loud and hopefully my components im waiting on will help as well.

and sound deadener, ofcourse.
