Alpine type R 05' model question

I have a type R from last year and I decided I want a second one now. It is a 12" 4 ohm and I can't find this sub anywere cause it is discon'd. I would like a new one also. I am begining to think it is a lost cause so my question is will my sub with a new 05' type R 12" 4 ohm sub sound the same at the same RMS rating(300)? I have the understanding that the two have the identical voice coils. I just want a second sub, but I would like to have, at least close to the same. Also, does anyone know of a place that would still sell the old type R sub new? LMK thanks

You do not want to mix a new one with an old one, I'd look at ebay as well, they had the old models NIB last I saw.

the new ones blow the old ones away...about a 2 db difference between em...don't ask me how, but its true somehow.
