Is this budget sub worth buying? Thinking about getting one and porting it. What size boxe/tuning would it like? Its a 12".

i had the older style type e's. i liked them a lot actually. plus their fairly cheap so you can destroy them or whatever with little remorse

i have never actually heard them, but a buddy of mine replaced his with a type R and he likes the R alot better lol but they are more expensive

Look at PG RSD OR RSDC subs, at $100 or less they preform pretty awesome. pairs on ebay for cheap.

i heard two in a tiny prefab ported box, and they sounded better than i thought they would. Not bad if you can pick them up cheap

e's hit hard believe it or not and dont need much power. they sound bad but fuk it they hit hard. i have had 2 of my own in the past

p.s i was disapointed in the difference between r's and e's, the e's sound awful but the r's dont hit much harder

lol, well,ive decided to ge tthe Type E. Some bass is better than none. Now I need to know what size ported enclosure to build for it and what to tune it to. One problem down and one to go

The E is good, I just sold some 12s last week for $100 the pair also. They have been with me for years, nice subs indeed.
