Alpine or Pioneer

they are both very good companies to buy decks from. It really depends on what models you are looking at, i think alpine has better sq, but the budget pioneers are very good if you like to mess with the EQ. When you get to the middle and top of the line decks from each company it really doesn't matter, they both are awesome and you can't go wrong with either.

alpine all the way, then again ive never owned any other brand of deck lol, but ive messed with several pioneers kenwoods etc... and just feel they arent as clean as the alpine. Not to mention I just upgraded my 9885 to a W203 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Chased him down the street to call a truce

The silly mutha****a pulls out a deuce deuce

Little did he know i had a loaded 12 guage

One sucker dead, l.a. times front page

I love Pioneer but I have 2 say I hate my new head unit its the AVIC-Z3 I hate how SLOW it is and very hard to find sounds.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yeah i like the graphics and all with pioneer but I am also not real big on flashy things. I lke sleek looking things and imo that would be alpine. Kind of plain looking but thats me. As far as equalizers tho I wasnt sure which was better

I am waiting on an Alpine 9886 that's back-ordered right now, but I've been thinking if I should change to something else instead. I notice that Pioneer came out with some new decks, namely the Premier 610BT, seems like a decent deck. My question is though, in terms of specs, which of Pioneer's HU is the most similar to the 9886? Or what else would you recommend from these two brands? My budget is around $250 or less. Thanks!

Also, do you guys recommend buying from an authorized dealer?

One of the things I love about the Alpine IVA-W505, which apparently is not the case with some of the Pioneer dual-DINs, is that if I've left my iPod connected, within seconds of me cranking the ignition its playing. The display is still coming up while the Nav boots, but its playing right where it left off. Very cool.

Yeah. I am almost thinking I am going to change things up and try alpine this time. More than likely the CDA-9887. I think I will be happy with it but if not I can always hit the classifieds on here

Actually, the 800 PRS has a much sleeker look than ANY of Alpine's current offerings.

ALWAYS !!!

I've used many Alpine products and I just love em. I had a pioneer one and it was decent but wasn't good enough. I went to best buy and circuit city to check out other pioneer models and they just don't seem to hold up well. I was thinking of the F-700BT but it was just toooo slow for me. All in all, they are decent for the price though. I like Alpine better because of the extra features they have to optimize SQ. They look better than most pioneers and easy to navigate through. I even like Alpine's remote control better, it just feels so much comfortable to use. Alpine FTW!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Really? That one costs a shitload more than the 9886. I think I'm just gonna stick with the 9886 then since it's finally in stock now and getting ready to be shipped. I don't plan on going active or anything, so it should be enough for my needs. I do want to upgrade to components later though and maybe just get one sub to even it out. This deck should be able to handle just fine right?

Well, you get what you pay for. The 800 is a better built head unit over all. In the end it's your money and you have to weigh your options and figure out which fits your needs and most important your budget.

The 9886 will do you just fine. Running comps up front using their supplied passive x-overs and a sub is no problem.
