Alpine CDA-9847 - Why cant I tell differences in HPF?

They go from..

Bass 60-80-100-115 (something like that)

treble 7.5 - 10- 12.5- 15

But i cant tell the difference...

And what determines what to set the width/narrow of the bass too?

bump, what does the treble settings mean? such as 10k 12.5k 15k

10khz, 12.5khz, 15khz

those numbers are the frequencies of the bass and treble boost. there should be selectable numbers from 0 to 4 for the width of the bass control, if i remember correctly. it's been a few years since i've had one of those alpines. if you hold the button that gets you into the bass and treble control, there's a couple more controls for the bass. again, it's been a while for me with that unit, so i don't exactly remember, but hopefully this helps you out a little.

also, those are not high pass filters. just treble and bass boosts. a 2 band parametric eq. that's it.
