Alpine G Type or R Type??

Hi,

 

I'm looking to buy a PDX-5 amplifier for my VW Golf.. I'm going to be running a Pioneer Head Unit (AVH-P3100DVD) and the Alpine S-Type Sub.. (As I just realised an R-Type won't work although thats what is all over their catalogue and website..lol haha)

 

 

Anyways, I don't want to spend too much money but would any one be willing to recommend what speakers to have?

 

Here's some of the specs:

 

Amp - Alpine PDX-5

75x4 (RMS) + 300 (RMS)

 

Speakers - (17cm)

 

G Types:

SPG-17CS - 70 (RMS)/ 280 (Peak)

SPG-17C2 - 60 (RMS)/ 240 (Peak)

 

-OR-

 

R Types:

SPR-17S - 110 (RMS)/ 330 (Peak)

SPR-17C - 100 (RMS)/ 300 (Peak)

 

Sub - Alpine 12" S Type

 

S Type = 300 (RMS)/ 900 (Max Peak)

Go with the G type.. R Type needs double the power!

about 150 rms per chanell.

Yeap.. Its something new.. This years model.. A bit ''stronger'' than S series. But less efficient..
