i have an 8445 coming back from eclipse and i am looking forward to selling it to get this pioneer since i heard the eclipse ipod thing sucks. I hear the ipod adapter is awesome but i would love to get some real life pics of displays with ipod on. help me out folks,i also heard the kenwood one was good so i got it for my truk and it sucks.I dont want to make the same mistake again. thanks guys and if someone can tll me what that mic looking wire is for that would be great.

The mic wire is for the Auto-EQ system. You plug it in, attach the mic to your drivers headrest, and let the system play some test tones. When its finished it will have an EQ that is customized for the sound in your car. Or so I understand. I'm getting mine tomorrow, I'll keep you posted how it works out.

HOLY crap are you serious? yeah let me know thanks...

THANKS THIS IS JUST What i was looking for

I haven't tried the MP3 playback on it yet, and I don't have the iPod hook up for it, but I do know that I hate the Auto-eq and TA. Don't get me wrong it's a cool feature I can't deny that, but I'd rather tune it to MY EAR than a mic.

On auto IMO it sounded like ***. I spent a good 2 hours just tuning it on my own and it sounded so much better than before.

no kidding youve got one?what happened to the nak? glad you like the pioneer. It looks like the clear winner in my price range

I found lots of pics thanks everyone, but i found the wire pic and i see fr,r,sub power speakers etc...but where is the aux input? is it in the ipod adapter and i select it like a source or whaty?

I don't have an Ipod, but the 880 is the absolute fastest deck i've had as far as navigating MP3 cd's. I was very impressed with it.
My 860 which I bought back in the fall of '04 is extremely fast with MP3 CDs as well. Seems like Pioneer has that feature down.

I had a Premier 920 that had that (one of the first years they did that I believe) and it sounded like *** too.
