Alarm siren dying??

Nothing Is Promised
Recently, when I lock/unlock my siren for my Clifford alarm seems to be getting quieter.

Any high dB sirens I could go buy and wire into my Clifford? I am going to college this week so I need it to be loud.

another question, I want to put another flashing LED on my dash (the installers put it by my toggle switch which is okay but you can only see if you are looking into my driver side).

How would I go about that? could I just tap into the LED's wire with another or do I need like a relay?

thanks

for the LED, yes you can just splice another one right onto the existing one. LEDs use so little power unless you have about 50 it shouldn't make a difference.

I dont know about the siren

I have a couple of DEI (Viper) sirens that are pretty loud... but depending on what model your Clifford is, it could be the same one you already have.

A lot of times though, it isn't the siren itself, it is the installation of the alarm. A bad ground could cause poor siren output. If you can, measure the resistance of the ground (black) wire from your alarm brain, and from your siren itself. Make sure it is screwed in tightly.

Also, there will probably be two loops of wire coming off the siren -- one black/white, one black. Cut the black one it will make it louder when it arms/disarms... but probably won't solve the problem.

Let me know if you want an extra siren, I have the ones like this one: http://www.drdetailshop.com/514N.htm

Alright, I'll check all my wiring tomorrow.

I'll let ya know about the wiring and about that siren. Could I wire one of those along with the clifford?

I have the 3.5RSX wiring with the 50.5X antenna, remote, and brain.

Yeah you can add another siren, any more than 2 though and I think you need a relay. But I am willing to bet its something in the install, I haven't seen too many sirens that have actually gone bad (then again I'm sure it does happen once in a while though)

Does it work sometimes and not work at others? i have that problem, i have to get it checked but too busy. it seems to happen more than often when im bumping the music loud, but still doesnt sound off, but locks even when i dont bump. i guess my chances are like pulling out the shortest stick out of a bunch of long ones from one's hand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

It's just REALLY quiet when I lock/unlock it. Only time it's loud is if I'm in like a parking garage or tunnel since it echoes.

It's worked fine until like the past three months. I have a lot of hw for my classes to do today then I will go check out all the wiring and report back.
