Is it true that if you disconnect the battery in a airbag equipped vehicle you will mess the airbag system up?

If you are under the dash in the wiring harness near the steering column look out for the yellow wires in their own bundle.

Most of the air bag wires are a yellow pair all alone.

Jack with those and you might set off the air bag!

no it wont do anything. But be careful. One of my firends hooked up a amp in his 2002 tahoe and when he unhooked the battery it sent the car into protection mode. He had to have the dealer come and get it. and fix it. I'm not sure if he messed something up or if it was just because he unhooked the battery.

no. i've unhooked my battery plenty of times and never jacked with the airbags...where the hell did you hear this from?

i went over to his house after it happened. I am not sure what he did though so it might not have been the battery i was just saying be careful about the newer cars.
