ai-net aux in adapter issue

I have an alpine cda-w550e, I'm trying to use my ipod via an ai-net aux in adapter, but for some reason the hu does not recognize an additional source. when pressing source you get "tuner->tape->cd->cd changer*."

*cd changer does not display on hu.

any help is much appreciated.
