I have been told both and i'm confused if i hook up a let's say XS battery to my duralast would it hurt anything? I have been told it wouldn't more then i would and i just need someone else's help. Last i was tolod is to get the 2nd battery specs close to the duralast and i would be fine.

There is a sort of practical versus theory here. In theory it can cause problems...but it doesnt always. Voltage sources in parallel are not ideal unless they match one another exactly in both steady state and transient conditions...just dont put a 12v battery upfront and 14v in the back....

Alright, Thank you all for the info 1 more should i get a big XS battery or a smaller my 1st batt is a 800 cranking amp Duralast gold and im going to run two Skar 12's and a Soundstream rub1.2500 with a 1600 watt planet audio for the highs

Honestly your going to need to upgrade your source for that much power,assuming you have just stock alt, 4k is HEAVY. I would invest in a new HO alt before adding more batteries. But if you have done this already, it depends on the spcs of that alt as to how big of a new battery you would need to invest in

His "1600 watt" Planet Audio amp is probably 100x4 at 4 ohms. But yeah, even with just 3k, you'll probably need an HO and two rear batteries.
