Aggravated, can't get L7 15 hitting the mid bass type frequencies..

i have a feeling the l7 starts slacking at like 70hz
Depends on the enclosure. But, I think the moral of the story here is going about things in the correct direction with mids etc that can reinforce the freq's that you need rather than trying to push your woofer(s) into regions it's not exactly accelerated in.

L7's want/love/require a large box. You dont get the cone area of a larger diameter round sub for free, it still requires that much more enclosure space (even though Kicker rarely tells us this).

As said many times above, trying to get your subs to play midbass is your problem, not the sub itself. Midbass should be a part of your front stage, not your sub system.

Work on your front stage to improve midbass response, not the sub.

Another problem is that xover knobs are marked really poorly. Don't rely on the markings. If I cut my mids off at 70 Hz on my Alpine amp the xover knob doesn't correspond to any frequency mark near that - use the test tones and take the knob markings with a grain of salt.
