Aftermarket stereo setting off factory alarm

I bought a new aftermarket dab radio for my old focus, i had a problem with the alarm on that and thought it was a sensor. I have changed my car to a cmax and put the dab into this now and guess what the alarm is now being set off so putting 2 and 2 im guessing its the stereo at fault. Does anybody have any idea what couldbe wrong with it. Thanks.

European cars have features that US cars do not. But setting off alarms is not something head units should be responsible for... unless the factory alarm is tied to the radio for some reason (theft of factory alarm?). if that was the case, the wire harness adapters/or interfaces should resolve that issue. possible a wire in the harness looks for the radio, and if the wire is open (not connected) it alarms. tying that wire to ground would be one possible way the manufacturer checks, tying through a resistor is another.

The other common factor between both vehicles is you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif what are the circumstances in which the alarm is going off?
