Aftermarket HU as LOC??

Hi

I just bought a MB E280, an i just found out how hard this cars are to work with stereo, the car have a basic system that sound decent, but i'm use to better sound system and i want to upgrade.

The thing is i'll like to keep the stock HU cause it blends really nice with the dash an i hate how the dash kit for aftermarket HU looks, hte problem is stock HU is really a basic one, no bluetooth to the phone, no MP3 and no aux.

So to make this the way i want i'll have to buy a LOC that will cost about $200, a bluetooth dongle that cost $150, and do a hack to the HU to get the aux.

But then this crazy idea came to me, what if i install an aftermarket HU hidden somewhere and connect the speakers line via the aux on the new HU, that way the new one works as a LOC for the amp, i can control my music from the dash (i listen to stations most of the time), but when i need the other features i can use the aftermarket HU.

Is this idea doable?? what should i need for this??

You can have it however you want so long as you can connect all the wires and speakers..

Just make sure you run all the lines from behind the stock radio

Will the aftermarket HU handle the load of a line level speaker??

Just buy a factory radio integration unit. Like fosgate 3sixty or jl cleansweep or jbl ms8. I really like the fosgate 360.2 or 360.3. You get amazing equalizer with them

Rockford fosgate 360.3 will do what you need

I did some research on the 3sixty.3, and i found that the JBL ms-8 is probably a better suit fot me, cause i can wire center and rear speakers from the internal amp of the ms-8, and use the 4ch amp to run my front speakers active.

What do you think about this.
