aero port question

if i do a CRX box with ports on the out side, how would i tune it.

would the caculator at subwoofer tools.com work right for that program.

On the outside of the box, I believe the ports will not add any volume, so whatever volume you have not including the space of the port, use that to calculate the length of the port, if it is too big cut it down some.

It would be tuned just like any other enclosure. However, there is no port displacement.

and it is for enclosure with inside port displacement.

so i need to figure out how to tune without port displacement.

use the precision port calculator:http://www.psp-inc.com/ to get the length and don't worry about adjusting the box's volume.

thats based on ttb's flared port formula's.

i use the psp-inc calculator

i suggest the ttb one unless your using psp's ports.

It takes the flair radius compared to tube diameter in account when calculating the effective vs total length.

ok for mine i got: 2.55 ft3

port diameter: 6

# of ports: 2

straight length port: 44.40

flare length port: 45.40

so how would i come up with how long each port needs to be and that stuff?

divide your box volume by the number of ports your going to use. cut each to that length.
