Hi there,
I'm new to the car audio world..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif lol I've got a VW Golf and was looking to get a sound system.. From looking at some of the products available on the market I've come up with this so far:
Head Unit - Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD With Bluetooth Module
50x4 (Peak)
Amplifier - Alpine PDX-5
75x4 (RMS) + 300 (RMS)
Speakers - G Type or R Type (17cm)
SPG-17CS - 70 (RMS)/ 280 (Peak)
SPG-17C2 - 60 (RMS)/ 240 (Peak)
-OR-
SPR-17S - 110 (RMS)/ 330 (Peak)
SPR-17C - 100 (RMS)/ 300 (Peak)
Sub - Alpine 12" S Type or 10" R Type
S Type = 300 (RMS)/ 900 (Max Peak)
R Type = 500 (RMS)/ 1500 (Max Peak)
I don't want to spend too much money.. And I'm only just starting off.. I understand that there's other factors such as sensitivity etc that need to be taken into account.. One thing I don't understand is how can the PDX-5 power the R-Type Sub? But, in the Alpine catalogue all the pictures of the PDX-5 are connected to a R Type Sub..! Would it be better to buy the S-Type or R-Type?
Also, Is there a way of bridging the head unit to power the front speakers at 100W each? I just don't see the point in losing the power I've already got in my Head Unit..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif lol
I'm willing to look at other products as well.. Thanks in advance for all the help.. Much appreci8d!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
