thinking about downfiring 4 8's in an extended cab s10 creating a sort of false floor. i was looking at the dayton quatro 8 inch subs. never heard them, but they look fairly decent. i'd like to find 4 8's that handle 300 rms each. the dayton's are 1/2 that. suggestions?

I've heard the Quatro 10's and 12's and they are sound pretty good in sealed boxes and handle power well, good cheap subs.

Parts express also carries a Dayton 8" HF subwoofer that handles 280 watts RMS/500 watts max. I've heard the 10" version of these and I liked them alot. Though they want a surprising large box to get low.

IMO,

I think any way you slice it four 8's (from any brand) will always be expensive, a huge hassle and still not get very loud. Especially when down firing. That kills the output of any sub.

Cramming a single 12" or a pair of low profile 10's in your truck will always be cheaper and have more output than four 8's.
