advice one 6 1/2s to get

I've been searching for a few days for 6 1/2 speakers for the doors of my honda civic and I've had a few people tell me to get the JL Audio TR600 - CXI's, They are listed as 6" but crutchfield claims them to be 6 1/2 and that they will fit my civic.

Just looking for some opinions on whether I should get these or a different set, I have an aftermarket stereo but I'm not planning to push the speakers with an amplifier at this time.

My budget is $150

Pioneer TS-D1720C (tsd1720c) 6-3/4" (Oversized 6-1/2") 2-way D-

best pair of comps for the price in my opinion. the tweets play down to like 2k and they take a buttload of power. I have a pair in my doors now and they are hard to beat.

i wouldn't. nates pioneers are great and easier to hook up than my speakers. I run active so each speaker has its own channel using the crossovers in the amp. Nates pioneers will hook up to any amp. passive is easier , but i'm partial to active setups.

I run the same Pioneers in my Jeep and I'll vouch for them as well. They're definitely hard to beat for the money. Like Bassin said, if you're looking for something easier to hook up, they're probably the better option. You'd have to pick up a HU or a processor that supports an active setup to run what he's got. I'm kinda partial to active setups as well. I'm finally getting the hang of tuning everything properly in my Caprice. It takes a ton of patients to learn and get it where you want it.

BTW my subs are completley off , not just turned down.

The pioneers are active in my car right now, but they sound really good on those passive crossovers, they will out perform the JL Im sure of that. Im not usually a fan of pioneer speakers but these ones do it for me.

Your camera picks that up pretty well. How much power are you feeding those?

they are (4) 8 ohm , sharing a bridged 4 channel. does 165x2 bridged. so around 80 per woofer.

They ar 1 1/8 inch silk dome tweets, they are pretty big and warm, I have a vid with them in it h/o

Nice. That sounded as good as my Toshiba laptop wanted to play it. I'm sure it sounds great in person.

The D series and higher from Pioneer are actually pretty highly rated speakers. I guess now they have the D series and Stage 4 speakers. They don't have anything in between. My PRS components in my Caprice would probably be considered in between them. Higher end Pioneer never ceases to amaze me.
