Hello,

I currently have MB Quart QSD 216 components in my truck. The Mid bass speakers are blown but the tweeters seem fine. When I check what fits my truck on crutchfield it says 6 and 3/4 but I know the MB Quarts are 6.5, so will any 6.5 work?

Also is it a major issue to replace the midbass speakers or will the new speakers not fit into the new system with the crossover already in place and setup for the MB Quart speakers.

Last, any suggestions on which mid bass I should get, price range is about $400, Thank you.

****, I really liked this set, too bad I can't find the original MB Quart mid bass. If I were to switch out the entire set, can anyone recommend a similar set to the MB Quart's?
Thanks
German Maestro SV6509 can be had for @ $750/set and the MS6508's for @ $1800 in store prices. Try finding a dealer..

What were some aspects of the comp set u really liked? They got loud and were still clear, the mid bass has good punch to them. They were installed for me, I don't know much about how to install or tune the crossovers. I have had them for about 7 years now and they just worked, they had a "clean" "crisp" sound is the best way I can describe it.

What music do u listen to mainly? Wish I could just listen to one kind of music, but I vary, rap/metal/jazz, but I usually only listen to the rap or metal at a higher volume.

What type of tweeter sound do u prefer? Bright or laidback? Honestly do not know the terminology.

I am not set on only MB Quart btw, but the price range is still $400, I have a little more, but I am keeping in mind that I may need to have them installed. I don't even know where the crossover is, since they were installed for me, I have opened the door panel, and they are not there, I am pretty sure that at least the passenger side crossover is under my dash.

Thanks again.

Are there any shops local to u that would allow u to audition some comps?

You could listen to the higher lines and then come buy them online for cheaper than the store will likely sell them.

For your price range, I'd look at the Image Dynamics CXS64 or Hybrid Audio Unity

the MB Quart QSD are a great set of speakers. #1 you should try to find the woofers online somewhere. someone, somewhere, is selling those exact speakers. it will make the install a breeze and you'll get the performance you had. it's also the cheapest option with the highest return.

you ever gonna put a system in that bish?

Is there much difference between the CXS64 and the XS65? Will my JL 300/2 be plenty to run either set? Thanks.
I honestly couldn't tell you on the differences. But, if the price difference between the two is nothing to you, I'd go with the higher line.

But, yes, the JL 300/2 will be fine for either set.
