Hey guys.

I have a pair of Focal 690CA1's powered by a 70x4 amp. I've noticed on occasion that the the back left 6x9 will buzz during quiet parts of songs with bass.. (if you listen to Tool for example, these happen a lot). Anyway, I took the rear panel off and listened for the buzzing at the same volume and it doesn't seem to buzz anymore. The only thing on the panel that might be buzzing is a foam protective layer that's slightly loose. You think the moving air could cause this to buzz?

Furthermore, what EXACTLY does distortion sound like.. Does it get loud as the volume gets loud? Or is it a quiet phenomenon. I might just end up turning the gain down for the rear channels.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

the easiest way to describe distortion at high volume is when the sound no longer sounds as clear as at a lower volume...and clipping comes along with a distinct change in pitch. Yes, speakers will make loose panels rattle or buzz.
