Advice on Kicker zx1500.1

use 0 guage wiring and run the amp at 2 ohms. Since you have a upgraded alt you could probably run it at 1 ohm, but its not covered under the warranty at 1 ohm. i myself would probably run it at 1 ohm but thats because my friends have before with no problems. The amp puts out plenty of power at 2 ohms so either way you should be fine. From what i hear the hdc315's like higher tuning, so somewhere in the range of 36-40hz should be good.

edit: well seeing how you have the dual 1 ohm sub, 2 ohm to the amp is your only option. So wire the subs in series to get 2 ohms and you should be fine. Let us know how the hdc315 does off that amp, apparently some guys are saying minimum 2500 rms for that sub.

should i just get the zx2500 then? cuz i can afford that 1 too im just scared itll be too much power.. and if u do recomend the 2500 wat should i run everything at in that case...

That sub will take 2500 if you set the gain properly and no bass boost, etc...

I prefer a 35Hz tune for daily, but if you listen to mostly rap then 38-40Hz is fine...

I think you should get the zx2500....mine takes it no problem and a lot of ppl on here are feeding theirs 2-3k...but mind that the gains are set correctly

wheres a good place for good instillation. i dont wana trust any place to install.. and what do i tell sum1 who is installing it to make sure they set the gains correctly?

yeah at least 0 gage wire and lots of good grounds "big 3" also id run that amp at 1 ohm.. once you take impedence rise and voltage drop into account at 2 ohm youll prolly be rising to 3 ohm and not getting much power out of you amp.. so id get a dual 1 sub and wire to 2..

you cant wire a d1 sub to 2 ohms. don give him false info. learn your stuff before you teach others or at least make sure you word it right
