Advice on how to proceed

>New 2012 Honda Fit Sport with Aftermarket HU (this is my HU: http://tinyurl.com/cwabgox)

>New Kflex 4guage OFC, silver cladded RCA's, terminals...etc, so I'm good on wiring.

>100 square ft of sound deadening

>Old Maxxbass processor

Tastes:

I listen to rock/metal. In a vehicle, I prefer bass heaviness over pure SQ. I like my music to sound fun, not so much as intended by artist. Punchy and tight with emphasis on low end.

>Want to use just 1 amplifier. Depending which plan is suggested, 3 channel, 4ch or 5 channel.

My first plan:

Space is #1 , so no subwoofer nor do I wish to custom anything. So I would have to comprimise. I need components, budget of $150-$250. IF I don't use a sub, I will use the Maxxbass to help emphasis some perceived lower end (it does work well) However What I want is a set that can handle mid bass really well because that Maxxbass will still strain a 6.5" but it's far better than using bass boost.

I am partial to JLAudio.

Crutchfield has a sale on JL Audio C3-600 for $249.00 which fits my car and comes with necessities. So far, I have not found any other online retailer selling it for cheaper (none i'd trust anyways)

My question is, do you guys suggest something else in that price range better suited for me?

Second question:

This is a 4 door, I want to keep rear fill or for passengers. However they are stock speakers. Should I leave the stock connected to HU or buy cheap coaxials and amp them? I'm thinking the afformentioned but this will decide what channel amp I will buy.

For this plan, I considered going an unconventional route by using my Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducers that I used in my home theater and attach them under the front seats. This would augment the Mid Bass a little bit or to say at least I would feel the bass since in this plan I will not be using a subwoofer.

My second plan:

Do away with Maxxbass and Tactiles, Sacrifice some space and use an 8" sub in a very small enclosure. This has limitations on low end and probably not as loud as i'd prefer so I probably should go SPL.

The highest SPL I could get for the space, that i can think of, would probably be Bazooka right? Yeah I know they **** and are boomy but it's about compromises and SQ isn't my priority this time around. I would choose the JLA microsub but it's not very loud for the space. A tube shape or a very, very thin box is about all i can fit under rear seats that would allow me to fold the rear seats down without any loss in trunk

For the subwoofer. Do a Passive Radiator set up. Or if you go ported. Tune a bit higher. Around 34-37 hertz.
I listen to metal/rock also. Mostly melodic death metal, metalcore, deathcore and so on. Probably the same as you. And when I tuned my first box to 32 hertz...it wasn't what I wanted for metal.

And yes. You can get a FAR better sub than a JL if you check around in the classifieds. Or hit @mylows10 ; who is a vendor.

Your best bet for the front stage is to build your own. Check out Parts Express: the #1 source for audio, video & speaker building components or Madisound Speaker Components: distributor of loudspeaker drivers and parts for speaker builders. and pick up some raw drivers.

For the rear fill just run them off the HU. No point in amping those.

Your best bet for a SPL 8" sub is a AB 8" or a sundown 8"

As I mentioned i'm not building or customizing anything. I'd rather not even use a sub honestly, too little room, if I did, it's going to be a powered enclosure and a very small one at that. Though of all the underseat thin style subs, no clue which would give better output. Until otherwise, i'll assume the tactile transducers maybe my better bet, especially since i already have them in the garage, might as well make use of them.

I'd also prefer a matched component set. Going into unfamiliar territory of buying individual parts to make my own component set probably isn't the best idea. I'm not going to randomly pick my own unless someone has the experience to know which ones would equal or out perform the JL's i linked at least.

A $50 morel driver would out perform a JL

JL is old news. THere are so many brands now that are far superior in quality

Well that's not very informative. No offense but sounds like the type of advice you get from a Kicker fanboi on youtube or something. Could you please be more specific with reasons or results why X is better than Y? NOT A "this brand is better than that brand" crap, lets talk products, not brands please.

You have to give me something, experiences, comparison results, hell even more members backing up the claim is fine.

If you actually have/had this $50 Morel driver and have/had a JL componet set, then share some detail on the experience and setup as to lead you to this belief and I could take the suggestions seriously. I don't care if JL is no longer the leet brand, it's just what i have experience with to compare to and are known to be pricey, yet solid performers. I have never seen any pro reviewer claim another brand to be "superior quality" over a quality product to begin with, that's just weird.

Get whatever you want I don't really care.
