im kinda new to the whole car audio thing..

had my silverado for a while and tired of havin no beat

I want to get an Alpine Type R 12" and im lookin into the MA Audio Amp HK-898. It says it has a max 1200 watts

im only gettn one 12'' cause i might put a second one in later if i feel the need..

but is this amp a good choice to power one type R 12" or capable of powering two adequately.

anyone have advice for my situation.. cuase its tough decision with $$

if you're getting a second one later, i'd get an amp that had enough power for 2. i don't really know much about ma's amps, but i would look into a hifonics bxi1206d for a good budget amp that'll run 2 R's.

for subs it's best to go with a D-class. There's really no difference between the two types of amps except for the higher efficiency of the monoblock.
That can be worded better....

Whether you choose to get a 2 channel or a mono amp for your sub(s), make sure it's class D. They are more efficient.

Yes, there are multi-channel class D amplifiers available. Eclipse, Alpine, and Pioneer (to name a few examples) make them.

lol, i'm at work...trying to type as fast as i can without my boss catching me on a forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
