advice on active 3-way crossovers

Adjustable slope up to 24db would be what Id consider minimum. The availability of steeper, adjustable slopes is one of the big advantages of adding a dedicated electronic xover.
Could you please kindly explain why you would want a steeper slope? like a 18 or 24 VS a 12 or 6 db slope???

Steeper slopes are often desirable for the lower frequencies, while many times 'blending' mids and tweets works out well with only a 6db slope. You may find your best results occur by using a 24db slope for midbass, and 6db for tweeters. Or, your individual system and personal preference may prefer a different combination. Having the ability to tweak the slope simply gives you that option.
