advice needed...

I'm getting ready to install my newest setup and I'm wondering how big of a cap and how to wire. I'm going to be running an Orion 2500D and an Orion 8004 wired with 1/0. Now I'm wondering how big of a cap should I get and should I have the 8004 included? I know that the 2500D will need it for bass hits but will I see any gains having the 8004 capped? I'm planning on running the fused 1/0 from the battery to the trunk to a dist block...most likely with 4 guage outputs. So the question is should the cap be install before the block (so both amps are included) or after only on the 2500D line? Thanks for the insight.

dont waste your money on a cap. they have been proven to be a waste of money. If you are insistent upon having a cap then I suggest you consider Batcap which is a hybrid capacitor/battery that far outperforms any other cap for the money. their website is http://www.batcap.net

HOWEVER, do not forget the heart of your electrical system. The ALTERNATOR. If you spend as much as you would on a cap for the 2500D as you were to upgrade your alternator, not only would you eliminate the need for a cap in the first place, but you will have a better-running electrical system overall. I HIGHLY suggest you upgrade your alternator and replace your stock battery with a higher capacity deep cycle. You are already on the right track with using 1/0 awg wiring. Do yourself a favor and visit http://www.eatel.net and browse through the basic car audio electronics. There is some valuable information there that will help you decide what the right thing to do is. Good luck.

so if I decide on a cap or the batcap should I include the 8004 or just the 2500D?
Not to be rude....but forget about the cap. At best, a cap augments a strong electrical system, but doesn't help a weak electrical system.

Get your electrical system up to snuff with an alt, a battery or two, upgrade the "magic 3", and then see where you stand electrically.

ok, fair enough. So a deep cycle battery up front and one in the back (isolated) with a h/o 220 Iraggi alternator (anyone have a website for this guy?) and 1/0 wiring running back to the trunk along with a 1/0 ground for my battery under the hood. This sound like a more sound install plan?

Would a 200amp isolator like this one http://www.cardomain.com/item/LITS200 work? Also since I've never done a dual battery setup I'm curious how the wiring would look. Like this?

Next I need to figure out how to find this Iraggi fellow. Thanks for everyones help and patience with my ignorence //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
