Advice needed

Wha sup fellas,

I know alot of you know how to do installs with all electronics for cars like, stereos, subs, vynil, fabrication just to name a few and some even know about mechanics and what not (im not to much of a newbie at this stuff either but to get a good job you need a some kinda of education background) but did any of you go to a school for it? Is that your Job or more like a side job/hobby? If you went to a school and it is your daily job, do you enjoy your carrer choice? Is the pay good? how much in a year do you get paid?....I want to make a carrier in this but i need some advice to make sure its gonna be a good reliable source of income ...Ive been looking into schools around here and these two are the ones that look interesting but wondering also what you think of them...

this one for more of interior installs...

this one for engine work and paint/exterior..

i can't really help you out with the school side, but i'm an automotive painter and the only install stuff i've done is for myself, but I think my pay is really good for 3 years in the trade(25/hr but i'm union)

i do know that body shops(probably as well as install bays and such) look for certification not degrees, but they can't really hurt. not much help but a little.

if you're into it, give it a try. It's not that hard to get a job at a body shop as a painters helper. You'll only get like 8 or 9 an hour, but it will get you a look at the field...

Im hearing more and more about UTI, and everything ive heard has been excelent and ive been thinkin of going to the one that just opened in sacramento.

As for car audio, i dont think there worth the cost, they teach you alot but you will still have to learn alot on your own. If you goto the school you know how to fiberglass, design/build enclosures, but they dont teach you the basics. I think your better off getting the mecp study guide and try to pass the test. Work for a lil while then see if its something you want a career in, then decide if you want to goto a car audio school.
