Advice for single 10" on VFL 150.1

So, it's been a long time since I've played with audio... like Fi was just starting to get big, long.

I just picked up a one of those Gold VFL 150.1's and was hoping to run a single 10" sub at 1 ohm.

I'm a big fan of low tuned boxes and listen to lots of styles of music...

I'd normally be considering a larger sub, but because it's got to fit in the trunk of a late 90's prelude, I'd like to go with a 10... just maybe a 12.

With all of these new goodies, I'm not really sure what i should be considering...

Things I've used include a pair of 12" SX/BTL hybrids, 15" adire tempest, CMP 8's & Cascade Omegas.

I don't want to spend $500 on a single sub, and i'm in Canada if it matters...

Steer me in the right direction...

If you don't want to spend a ton get a audioque hdc3 10.
Just popped over to their website. I can probably spend a bit more than the $230 plus shipping that they're asking, but i'll read up on em.

I'll send mach 5 an email.

I can probably do up to $400 with everything in. I have no issue running used speakers either, as long as they're in decent shape.

Thanks for the quick replies.

How much power does that amp do? You could look at the ssa xcon. Maybe a ssa zcon used? Only comes in 12" at the smallest size. Sundownz v.3 used? They come in 10s and from what I hear they're pretty beefy.

go ahead and get the audioque 10 if you wanna have a broken subwoofer in less than a month that they will not replace under warranty. They do all this preaching on their website about how strong their suspensions on their subs are but they break without even being beat on. Their customer service is garbage and their subs are now made in china pieces of ****. As far as sub size goes, I would do a 12 for whatever brand you end up getting.

2900 rms on the amp so look for a big boy sub . a hd 12 would be good or a dc xl ,the sub will be heavy tho
These are more along the lines of what I'm looking for. Time to start reading & sending a few more emails...

I'm all ears, as far as other options go.

Quality is what i'm after.

This is my first smaller car, so i'm used to SUV's and trucks having extra room... that's why i was thinking a 10.

I guess a 12 doesn't need too much more volume as far as boxes go...
