Advice for an Amp choice

12" 4-ohm subwoofer x2 @ supposedly 400 rms

These happened to be free in a sealed box from a friend, I basically need to buy an amp to support them which pains me to say I don't wanna throw a lot at it. That being said I don't wanna throw money into an amp that's a disappointment either. As it's wired it's currently separated, if I remember correctly, I would believe a good way to start is to wire em together to make them a 1 load at 2 ohms, and try to find an amp at 800-1200 rms @ 2ohms right? Appreciate the help and stuff n.n off to lurk guides/amp sellers for references in the meantime.

It really depends on you budget but the cab 1600.1 * NEW * CAB-1600.1 Amplifier - Car Audio Bargain is an excellent choice for 200$ able to put out 1200+ rms@2ohm and more @1ohm which leaves you more flexibility for future upgrades. If your not sure how the box is wired you might want to check and make sure it's wire like this to 2ohm

You don't want to skimp on your amp, but it's hard to help when we don't know your budget...

Ah sorry about that, specifically it's more than likely there won't be any upgrades. As for a budget, 150 is probably the highest i'm willing to go at least for today. The subs are wires individually, but I was saying I am pretty sure I would wanna wire them uhhh series'd(?) in order to cut the load in half to 2 ohms correct?
