Im figuring on going with A.A. tempests, probably a pair, A.A.'s website said that they were just 15" shivas, but then again, i know nothing about the shivas so, i need some opinions. again...heh

I currently own a pair of Shiva's ... and am getting a pair of Tempests soon enough.

The Shiva's offer me great sound quality and they will get pretty loud as well.

The Tempests will be run in daily driver/SPL style ... apparently they are the big brother of the Shiva, like you mentioned. Sorry I can't offer any more info as of right now on the Tempests. I was also told a minimum of 7 cubes for a pair.

Primarily ported.

Sealed you could feasibly get them as low as 2.5 cubes each with minimal problems, but the more space you can afford for them, the happier they are by far...

If you can give them 8 total for a pair, you can make a plugable port design which will offer you pretty much the best of both worlds...

plugable port, whats that? and since i have to buy them seperately, would 4 cubes per box work?

Well, if you use a PVC port, you can buy expanding plugs that seal them off, which will in turn give you a sealed box.

And to your other question, 4 cubes per box is perfect... I wouldn't change a thing there.
