Adire Audio vs. Memphis

I currently have 2 12" Kicker L7's on a Hifonics BX2006d amp. They are in a box thats 4.5 cu/ft tuned to 35hz. They get pretty loud. Well it's about that time for me to try something new, and i've been hearing about the Adire Brahmas and the Tumults. I figured alot of you guys have had experience with Adire. How well do you think 2 of the Brahmas would stack up against 2 of the Memphis M3's? Both would be 12" And since the rms on the Brahmas is just 600 watts rms i'd just keep them on the same amp. Any input would be appreciated.

I havent heard of anyone buying an adire product since their last stint of bad subs, and of course the usual whinings of dan wiggins over multiple fourms.

If you can find some of the older Brahmas like the MKI-II I would go with those. The first and second gen Brahmas were nice subs, then Adire had some QC issues with subs falling apart.

Memphis on the other hand is a great company to deal with. The shop I used to work for dealt in Memphis a lot. They are a very personable company, and if you buy authorized they will help you no matter what. The M3's are solid subs they get decently loud and they sound ok.

Sadly, Adire really shot themselves in the foot. However, there is a great performer with XBL^2 that is available from CSS.

Thats good fking price. **** I think this might be the driver I've bern looking for. Punk0Rama do you think this would work well in an ported enclosure, or more of a sealed driver?

Usually xbl^2 motors will work exceptionally well in sealed or ported. Expect some massive low end with low tuning for those subs.

I just got me a Brahma MKI. Reconed and hasnt been used for 2 years. cant wait till i get a new vehicle to use it in my sq setup...though thats gonna be quite some time.

The design seems to be very flexible and I imagine you would have great success with it ported. With that said, I personally would go with a sealed enclosure to really utilize it's strengths; not saying that it won't be a great ported application, simply suggesting that it's advantages over some other subs (aside from the great price) will be most obvious in a sealed enclosure.

It is easy to look back at things with that attitude now. Remember that "their last stint of bad subs" was their first stint, and more often than not, Dan was contributing valuable knowledge to several forums, despite the occasional run-ins he had with various characters who were of poor substance.

Is your issue that he didn't give you any free products? No free ride? No special competitors discount?
