Adding second battery

Okaaay so the guy who thread jacked me really got this off topic. I'm guessing my picture will work but I need to add a fuse from the amp to the rear battery? I probally will just ground the second battery to save wire, if I can find a good grounding spot
Yes. That will work, but look into a battery isolator.

ALSO when u ground the battery dont use screws. use a bolt going through the car and then put a nut and washer on the bottom where the bolt comes out. and sand down the area where ur grounding really good. also if u have any noox jelly put that on there to keep from rusting ever happening

Im kinda new to the hole running battery thing but after i add in my next 2 subs ill need another battery for sure and maybe im missing something but wont i need an alternator too? Is it really as simple as running another powerline from the battery to the added one in the back and then grounding it out adding the 2 fuses? If i dont need another alternator will my stock alternator charge up both of my batteries at the same time?

depends on the power the amps pull, the size of your batteries, and the size of your alt.

The only reason for putting a fuse within 18" of the battery is safety. If you were to put a fuse by only one battery, if it were to get pinched or short somehow, and they were 5'6" apart, that's now 4' of power wire that is going to catch fire and potentially burn your vehichle to the ground.

How much is considered a lot of power for a civic?
it is more dependant on what alt you have. your stock alt is probably 90 amps. i would recommend upgrading if your amps are going to draw a good bit over that. if your going to draw say 200 amps of current with your amps then i would definately upgrade the alt. if its like under 120 i probably wouldnt. do the big 3 for sure either way. adding bat may help but if your amps are going to draw too much current for your alt what will happen is your alt wont be able to keep up with charging your battery and your system will be running mostly of your alt causing a short life for your alt and battery. this can also cause a unsafe drop in voltage possibly causing your amp to die.

you should be able to tell if its a strain on your alt by severe dimming of lights and in a bad case you will notice once you system has been played loud for a period of time it may seem to not be quite as loud as when you first started playing it. you can tell by driving for a while with the system turned down low for a bit and then if it seems to be loud again for a bit then not as loud after a lil time again. also can cause a rough start when your starting your car and seem as if your battery is almost dead because the alt couldnt keep up and bat doesnt have much charge stored. this is likely if your like most of us and blast your system from start to stop lol.
