well i just ordered another 50ft of 1/0 and as of now have 1 run from the front to the back and my old 3kw amp was just grounded out in the back, i want to add another power run and do some ground runs from back to front if it will help

my new amp has dual 1/0 power/grounds so does this look about right?

so where should i run my amps grounds.... to the front or what?

also if i am doing 2 power runs should i double up the rear battery jumper?

any answers would help

Not sure on the rear battery jumper, Id assume so tho.

As for grounding amp's, Ground them to the rear batts if the run isnt too long.

Also i believe you'd want both runs of positive to the back to the same battery, Then a jumper or two to the next. Atleast thats the way ive always seen it done.

IMHO, This is how it should be done:

The fuse on alt wire, And between bat and amp are optional, Altho id strongly advise them. All fuses should be at the rating of the wire [300a]

Disclaimer: I only speak from what ive seen, Not actual experience. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny this?

ok so run the amp's grounds each to a rear battery ground then run a ground from each rear battery to the front battery ground?

Flint, alright well i just got back from the local shop and they have the Exide Orbital batteries, last time i was in they were on sale and 139.99 for great batteries imo, 2 and a stock battery ran 3k rms absolutely no problem and voltage was in the 14's always but i went back and the price is $297 now WTF? double the price in under a year... i hope exide goes under

anyway what other batteries would run good with the sealed orbitals, i need something for under the hood and 2 more smaller batteries to fit between the back of the box and the rear seats, so they need to be small but put out some serious power, i need to have the option to run this amp at 1 ohm so a good 6-7k rms probably

You do know amps have internal fuses, right...?

yea but it isnt like a 300 amp is it, the amp is rated for 6k rms so it would be a unique one i thought, i dunno. Well if i dont have to do that it just makes me not need the 2 more holders i ordered

The wiring looks fine. Ground the amps to the batteries and the batteries to the frame. Fuses would probably more appropriate on the long run from the front to the back. To be safe, put one on each run at the back and at the front. ... or just risk burning your car down if you want to.

[edit] if you have a mono amp, the + and - are already connected, so that bridge between batts is not really worth much, but I like the idea of 2 different runs from each batt to the amp. ... the least amount of contact surfaces possible and the shortest runs is the best connection
