Adding 12" Subwoofer, help needed

I have a 2011 G37x sedan and I ordered a Zenclosure 1-12" sub box. Stated mounting depth is 8.25". I'm going to call them tomorrow to find out if that's the actually depth from the hole lip to the bottom or if that's the max size sub I can put in the box. If it's the max size I'll be getting an Image Dynamic IDMAX 12" most likely as it has excellent SQ and SPL. I also ordered a XSPOWER D3400R, StreetWires 0/1 wiring kit and a Kicker CX1200.1 amp. I already have a Kicker CVX124 Subwoofer, but I want something with better SQ and maybe even a little more SQL (I listen mainly to Metal and Rock). The Zenclosures box is 2.0 Cu Feet and it's sealed. I did order Poly fill, but never stuffed a sub box with it. I'd appreciate some suggestions from the knowledgeable people on this forum. Thank you in advance.

might need a properly built box rather than a plain sealed box. T line enclosure is a monster for metal. Sealed never held a candle to a T line when it came to metal and rock music IMO.

I got an IDMAX 12 it'll fit in the Zenclosures box no problems too. The box is 2.0 cubic feet which is a little bigger than the recommend 1.5. I have a ton of poly fill. Should I use that to reduce the interior airspace? I plan on running the sub in parallel so I can get 1200RMS from my Kicker amp @ 2ohm. Figure I'll dial down the gain to make sure i don't over power it, but from what I've read these subs can handle more than their advertised power and do it reliably.

If you insist on using that zen enclosure you should and some blocking inside to reduce internal volume. Poly fill actually tricks the woofer into thinking it's in a larger enclosure. Also a larger than recommended box will lower power handling. I'd be really careful with the power you have at hand. The max is only a 2 inch coil if I remember correctly. Great sounding woofer but I think the power handling spec is a,little optomistic.

Thanks for there advice. Yeah I need this enclosure in my car due to lack of space and wanting it to be centered for weight distribution as I drive aggressively and want the best handling I can get so no go for a side of the trunk box and amp. So don't use the poly fill and instead add some blocks inside to reduce the interior volume to 1.5 cubic feet and reduce my amp gain to compensate for the IDMAX's inability to take it's advertised power or above?

I think I'm just going to use 2x4 to reduce the interior volume. 1.3-1.4 cubic feet seems like a good spot to be for the IDMAX. I want to make sure my estimates are correct. 2x4 is actually 1.5x3.5 inches or 5.25 cubic inches for every inch in length. 18" in length is 94.5 cubic inches which equals .65 cubic feet. Also using 2x4 and secured with construction adhesive should work fine correct?

Got the IDMAX installed in the Zenclosures sealed box at 1.4 Cubic Feet pushing 1200RMS to it through a Kicker CX1200.1 and it sounds great. I'm not pushing it too hard yet as it needs to break in, but it is very loud and the SQ is great. Playing the album The Link by Gojira is nuts. Lamb of God's new album pounds hard too. Same for Fear Factory. AC/DC sounds perfect! I'm loving it. Power and precision. Best sub I've owned thus far.
